Personal Viewpoint
Sensei Brooks views training in ancient Japanese martial arts as something that brings benefits far beyond self defense. He takes great satisfaction in witnessing the improved self-esteem that can result from increases in physical and mental strength and confidence. He values the whole person. His students are like family to him. He believes that the process of training is almost as important, if not more important, than the goal of self defense.
