Help Your Kids Keep Themselves Safe!

Give your children the skills to protect themselves from harm, both from others and from themselves. Our fun Ninja Kids program teaches children important life-saving self defense and accident-proofing abilities. They learn to develop their fitness, balance, flexibility, and coordination, plus a positive mental attitude.

What Makes Us Different?

Your kids will learn techniques from Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, the martial art used by ancient samurai and ninja in Japan. Budo taijutsu, roughly translates to “warrior body methods”. It uses martial arts that have protected and saved lives for nearly 1,000 years. Most modern martial arts – like karate, taekwondo, aikido, and judo – are recently developed sports or wellness arts. Unfortunately, even though these other arts contain bits and pieces of good things, they are sadly incomplete. If you want to keep your kids safe, have them learn Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu!

Class Format

All Ninja Kids classes are taught by Sensei Anthony Brooks, the founder of Brooks Martial Arts Center. Sensei Brooks holds a 10th degree black belt and has been studying Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu for nearly 30 years.

Most of our classes follow the following format:

  • Bow-in: A sign of respect to the teacher, other students, and all others around the world who study ninja and samurai arts.

  • Rolling and diving skills: Trains kids to be able to trip, fall, flip, or roll without getting hurt.

  • Conditioning excercises: Help kids to stay fit and build strength.

  • Active games: Teach kids important distance, timing, and evasion skills. Gives kids the opportunity to use their rolling and diving skills in an active situation.

  • Water break

  • Forms: Kids learn the basics of good body movement and stances that they can use when performing martial arts techniques.

  • Kicking & striking: Children learn how to throw effective punches and kicks using padded targets.

  • Self defense: The rest of class, kids learn how to defend themselves with specific techniques and movements, including escapes from grabs, places to stike, and how to escape from their attacker unharmed.

  • Ninja freeze dodge game: A popular favorite with the kids. They get to play if they have been well-behaved throughout class.

  • Bow-out: Saying thank you for the class.

All students are taught the same techniques at the same time. Depending on how long the student has been training, they may practice a more basic or advanced form. But there is no heirarchy where students build up to a particular technique. Everyone gets the good stuff on day one!
